Get to Know Me
Since 2013, I have been training and gaining experience in therapeutic work. 2014 I got my certificate in Teaching Mindfulness Skills and worked within the corporate world supporting staff with day to day stresses with weekly mindfulness sessions. With my personal losses I decided to support others by becoming a volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Support as a Bereavement Volunteer in 2017. With this being such a rewarding role, I found people were able to connect, process and grow. I wanted to be and do better and over the years I completed counselling training. It was in 2020 I qualified with the CPCAB Level 4 as an integrative counsellor. I am registered with the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society) following their ethical framework. After qualifying I found I had time to go ahead with my EFT training and in 2021 I qualified as an EFT Practitioner, and in 2023 I completed my Advanced Training and now an Accredited Advanced Practitioner. In 2024 I completed my BSc degree with The Open University in Psychology with Counselling. I became a supervisor in 2022 which I qualified with Cruse and now able to support other therapists in their journey. I regularly complete other CPD to support my understanding and knowledge to help and support you better.
Areas of Interest
Throughout my journey I suffered much loss and change and found that grief impacts life in many ways and with each ending and new beginning, with each life transition came grief and the processing began again with post traumatic growth.
Like many of you, I've had to do some work with my inner child to release childhood and adult traumas. I heard once that trauma is not a competition and so there is no big or small trauma, only what you have gone through both for little you and now you and this will cause pain. This pain can stay with us.
Our body and mind will react to trauma and can be held in body an mind. My trauma showed up physically and I had a balance and dizzy disorder for many years. With the help of Counselling, Mindfulness and EFT I found relief and grateful not to have symptoms anymore. I have experienced PTSD yet no longer an everyday occurrence as used the support and use the tools of counselling, mindfulness and EFT and when I'm ready to see, hear or feel the next layer of pain, I can work with it to heal that bit more. I know am able to share this with you and help you have that relief too.
To have trauma symptoms is normal yet the event is not normal and how we deal with it can be difficult and then impact life in many ways and we need a little help.
However grief, trauma, pain shows up in your life, know you do not need to be alone, you are not the only one and I know how hard it is to pick up the phone or send that email and also know how much it is worth it.
The journey continues….
